Acne Vulgaris is a condition affecting the pilosebaceous unit. Acne
is caused by various factors, which are all work interdependently
and influenced by the hereditary and hormonal factors.
Sebum
is produced by the sebaceous glands and secreted to the skin surface
through the pore of the hair follicle. Patients with Acne suffers
from excessive sebum secretion. They also tend to have blockage
of the pore due to altered keratinisation activity. The collected
sebum then gets infected with the propionibacterium acnes.
Microdermbarasion and
skin peel are effective in the treatment of active acne and also
in the treatment of scars.
